Unread emails

New unread emails show up on my new iPad running under iOS 11 with red number against the icon and blue dot in the inboxes. My problem is that they lose their unread status after a short period of time despite not being opened.

The iPad I am replacing runs under iOS 9 and does precisely what I would expect, ie keep the unread status until the email is opened. I have contacted apple support who have got me to reload Mail; reboot the system; and change one of my accounts from POP to IMAP, to no avail. Before I go back to them does anyone out there have any ideas?

Now any emails from this user, whether same or different subject do not show on the iPhone. What I see instead is the original May 11 message marked as unread, and with the "replied" icon. iPad only showing unread emails Hi, my ipad is only showing unread emails. As soon as I read them they vanish. I've read lots of things online about this but everything I try doesn't work. I've been in email settings and changed everything but nothing worked. The little circle at bottom of page with three lines just goes between "filtered by: " and "unread" neither displays read emails. Is it a fault with my ipad or is there a setting somewear I've missed. I can get them on my sons phone or by searching all mailboxes. But this is just so frustrating, please help me !!!!!

IOS14 - Mail is showing unread ghost emails After updating to IOS14 my email is showing 3 unread emails but there are non. I’ve removed and re-added mailbox, restarted, logged on to Mail using browser which shows zero unread emails, and I’ve made emails “read” from the app. But it keeps showing 3 unread emails.
