Trying to send iMessage to non iPhone user.

My cousin switched from iPhone to android. I get her texts as a text message but whenever I reply it goes blue and tries to send an iMessage but she doesn’t get the message unless I force it through as a text. It isn’t happening to other iPhones she tries texting. Just me. If I turn iMessage off, it’ll send messages to her as text. I have the feature to send texts when iMessage isn’t available turned on.

I’ve also tried deleting her contact, and creating a new one for her.

Is there anything I can do to make my phone realize she doesn’t have an iPhone anymore? Cause it seems extra to have to turn iMessage off every time I wanna chat with her.
