Sometimes one does not understand why a post was removed - the Apple employee(s) (host) having made that decision does. The email notification may not be totally explanatory. And, if you will read the ToU, the last sentence explains it well:

Apple Support Communities Use Agreement

And, the hosts are Apple employees; the volunteers/helpers here are not. Apple owns and runs the site, but does not actively respond here except for the "community specialists" which are also Apple employees (they have an Apple logo). We do not run the forums and are not privy as to Apple's policies. Neither do we need to be. We do know (from the ToU) that the forums are to be mostly for technical questions/answers and that we are not allowed to discuss Apple policies.

As a tip: if something was removed, that would be the cue for you not to repeat it as they will most likely remove it again.

Thank you, 'macjack'. I truly don't know what is happening today.

This is what the post was about, but it seems to have 'disappeared'.

Are the Moderators here paid professionals or simply volunteers?

I'll try and answer but without the original posts that will be difficult.

I didn't see Babowa's post but I have never seen Babowa write a dubious post. The hosts, on the other hand, will remove anything they see as 'possibly' inflammatory (their right to interpret the word) or a post of non technical nature. And no, as far as the forums are concerned, humour is not meant to be a part; they consider this is not a social media type of site.

As far as your Etrecheck was concerned, did you remove the Zenmate program as was suggested? Your machine may be considered in the report as excellent but the amount of RAM you had available was insignificant and quite likely to have caused the problem you had. I'm surprised no-one pursued the interference possibility either.

As far as points are concerned, the hosts/moderators have nothing to do with that side of the forums. Points are only awarded by the person who asked the original question (As you have done for me).

That person alone can judge if a reply is worthy of a help or solved star. I can tell you, less than one in ten posts that the questioner considers answered are actually marked as such one way or the other ..... and often a perfectly correct answer is simply accepted and the questioner disappears into the ether.

Your avatar must be chosen from the formal list until you reach level 2. Then you can insert you spanking new iMac. So you'll have to get working.

Hope I have gone some way to helping.
