My homeshare payment info keeps declining

My wife’s phone is the primary account holder. She can purchase on her phone without problems. My phone keeps telling me there is a problem with the account holders payment information. I cann’tmake purchases or download any new apps because of it. This seems to happen every few months and, after a few days, will correct itself. Why is this happening and how can I keep it from occurring?
