Tell us more about this ‘super CD player’. Is it hi-fi equipment or a computer optical drive? Does it have burn capabilities? How is it connected (USB or other)?
Does the CD appear on the Desktop in Finder as a volume?
Is the connected external drive listed in Apple menu>About This Mac>System Report>Hardware>Disc Burning
Is the CD a regular CD-DA ‘red book’ audio CD? (SACD cannot be read.)
