Can I increase screen brightness beyond the slider?

Sometimes full brightness setting just isn't enough for me. Is there any way I can overclock my screen brightness? A setting in a hidden developer menu, maybe? An app? Some weird, random collection of keyboard characters and strategic reboots like they show in those ineffective you tube videos?

Some outdoor situations make it almost impossible to view the screen. What can I do?
