Siri doesn’t mute radio in iOS 11

Until iOS 11, CarPlay would mute the radio upon hearing the “Hey Siri”. Now it doesn’t and therefore CarPlay picks up whatever the radio station is saying. This negates whatever you said. Anyone heard whether Apple plans on fixing this? Very expensive car and expensive iPhone don’t work as advertised. I’m not happy.

IPhone 8 & JVC KW-V950BW wireless CarPlay radio I have an aftermarket radio, JVC kw-V950BT. Wireless CarPlay worked perfectly with my iPhone 8 after install for about a month or two on iOS 12. Now, when I try to answer a call, I can hear the person on the other end, but they can’t hear me. If I try to speak to text through the radio, Siri cannot hear me. I have gone through iOS 13 and now 14 with no fix. I have taken the dash apart to verify the external microphone connection to the back of the radio did not disconnect itself from vibration. I have updated to the latest firmware for the radio and the Maestro unit(updated in May 2021). The JVC radio uses the maestro RR unit to interface with my 2013 F150 that was originally equipped with the factory 4.3-inch Sync radio. In order for me to speak to someone, I have to disable CarPlay and use my phone, which is a safety issue. There is one strange thing that occurs: if I attempt to initiate a text message through the radio, Siri will ask me what I want to do. I will respond that I want to send a message to someone. Siri responds by saying “ok, what do you want to say”, clearly hearing the command. But, after that nothing I say is picked up by the unit.

Siri fetches wrong radio station every time Since IOS 14 when i ask Siri "Play Times Radio" (a UK speech station), it always comes back by playing Times FM a non English station. This occurs on both my iPhone and iPad. Prior to IOS 14, I had no problem. Also, have another older device which won't update to IOS 14 and this fetches Times Radio every time. Have reported this to Apple but without any help. Could anyone try it please and see if it works for you? Thanks.
