Assigning Weights (Math Calculation with Apple Numbers)

Hi Friends,


I am trying to do the following and it's easier said than done.


STORY: There are 10 assignments (quizzes, tests, etc). Now, first 5 assignments are worth total of 25% of students grade with each assignment having 25% higher importance (higher weight) than the first one. The first 5 assignments with their corresponding weights will be worth a total of 25% of students grade. The remaining 5 assignments (6, 7, 8, 9, 10) will each be worth 75% than previous assignment, but the sum of all assignments (1-10) will total 100.

1
225% higher than assignment 1
325% higher than assignment 2
425% higher than assignment 3
525% higher than assignment 4
675% higher than assignment 5
775% higher than assignment 6
875% higher than assignment 7
975 % higher than assignment 8
1075% higher than assignment 9


Does anyone have any idea how to calculate this in Apple Numbers?

Will this work?

Formulas:

C3: =C2*1.25

Fill down to C6


C7: =C6*1.75

Fill down to C11


Add a Footer row to the table (row 12)

C12: =SUM(C)


D12: =100/C12


Enter 1 in C2


Select D12. Copy.


Select C2

Go Edit > Paste Formula Result.


Done.
