update for Motion not appearing in AppStore

I have Motion 5.3.4 and have recently upgraded my iMac to Sierra, but the upgrade to Motion 5.4 won't appear in my AppStore. I've installed the 5.4 update on my other computer (miles away from this one) so I know it's compatible with 10.12.6 but I can't get the update to appear in the AppStore. Going to the app and clicking install simply tells me that Motion is already installed on this computer and to check the AppStore for updates.... Any suggestions? (Could I copy it from the backup drive on my remote computer?)

I wouldn't recommend trying to run Motion 5.4 in Sierra. It really needs High Sierra (but it may depend on your Mac model -- Motion 5.4 didn't fare well on my machine in Sierra).

Try zipping up your copy of Motion (to save you from reinstalling the same copy) and trashing the original (and empty trash). Go to the App Store (purchases tab) and see which version is offered to install (it should be the last version you installed on your other machine).
