Handoff, iMessage and FaceTime problem

Hello everybody,

I purchased MacBook Air today and I set it up. I have linked my Apple ID (same as one on iPhone) with my MacBook, and then my iMessages and FaceTime stopped working on iPhone and I can't get them to work (they also don't work on MacBook). I tried various solutions: Airplane mode, turn on/off iMessage/ Facetime/ MacBook/ iPhone, I even tried with WiFi and cellular data (they work just fine), cleaning NVRAM, checking time zones etc. I have updated my MacBook on High Sierra but that didn't solve the problem. I even created new Apple ID, and iMessages and FaceTime worked fine on iPhone until I connected the same ID to my MacBook. Also I have tried to set up Handoff (via Apple Support instructions) and it doesn't work either. I have iPhone X which is updated to latest OS and also is the MacBook.

Currently on my iPhone on iMessages and FaceTime stands "waiting for activation", and when I try to log into iMessages or FaceTime on MacBook I get the message: "An error occurred during activation. Try again" and so on.

Please does anyone have possible solution or something I can do?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Izzy,

Have you set your new Mac up fully yet and logged in with your Apple ID and password on all Apple Services you use, yet?

If not, do that first.

The following link lists all Apple Services you need to sign into; it gives a nice checklist to use as a reference to make sure you sign in to the ones applicable to you and as specified:

Also, be sure you went through the steps thoroughly, within the link below, as outlined:

Hi, liv

Thanks for the reply.

I have set up my new Mac exactly as shown in the Apple Instructions.
And I have checked all the Apple Services from the link. Everything seems to be fine.

Only problem that I have is that I can't sign in to iMessage or FaceTime on both iPhone X and Mac.
Like I wrote before, iMessage and FaceTime were working just fine, until I connected my Apple ID with my new MacBook. At the moment I can't sign in those services and I get the same message on Mac and iPhone. I tried every possible solution that I have found here and on internet and nothing seems to work.

Also the handoff is not working properly, I can access current tab from Mac Safari from my iPhone but not vice versa.

Also my contacts are not synced properly as some of them are missing.
I really don't know what else to do. I'm very confused since both of my devices are new and updated (iPhone X is 2 weeks old, and I have bought my Mac yesterday). Seems there is some kind of error but can't figure out what is wrong.
