iTunes Visualizer is broken in 12.7

Has anyone heard of a method to re-enable the Visualizer in iTunes 12.7? I was forced to update iTunes for the sake of my iPad, only to find that the new iTunes no longer backs up my iPad as completely it used to - and also the Visualizer is gone!

Found it! Fullscreen does work.

In System Preferences > Energy Saver I had selected Automatic Graphics Switching. The effect was two-fold:

1) every 5 seconds or so the visualizer would freeze for a split second

2) fullscreen visualizer window would only show black with the onscreen/help menus if requested

With that option off, it all works fine.

Thanks for your help!

What system version are you using?

I am running iTunes 12.7.3 on El Capitan 10.11.6 - the iTunes Visualizer is blank. I can get the track name and the Help menu to appear. Also in the iTunes Classic Visualizer I get a flickering distorted screen.

Is there a setting or configuration that is needed to enable the Visualizer?

I have reinstalled iTunes and tested it in another pristine account as well as in my regular account. The iTunes Visualizer (not the Classic one) will work in a window (not full-screen) in both places. When I choose full screen (ctrl-cmd-F) the Visualizer window grows to full screen but goes black. When I press the key combo again (ctrl-cmd-F) the window shrinks but stays black. If I close that window, I can start the visualizer again in a new window, but cannot make it go full screen. I can stretch the window to near full screen, but the title bar and the screen menubar are still present.

Perhaps this small window functionality was present before the reinstall, but I hadn't tried these moves earlier, just the fullscreen.

Do you have any idea what could be limiting the fullscreen rendering of the Visualizer? My screen is 1680x1050 and I've tried all the smaller sizes that are available with no change to behaviour.
