Synch photos from a mac to an ipad when icloud photos are turned on on the mac

Hi -

Random question...my mac has my entire photo library on it (full resolution), and that library is synched with iCloud photos. I have an iPad with a ton of storage and I would like to put my 30GB photo library on it. I realize that I can turn on iCloud photos and synch it over the internet. Can I synch my ipad with my mac (iCloud photos is turned on on my mac), synch all of the full res photos, disconnect and then turn on iCloud photos on the iPad. Anyone do this?

Photos library I am trying to understand how the Photos library on my Mac and the iCloud Photos Library stay in sync. I recently uploaded my Mac Photos Library to iCloud thinking I could use that as the main Photos Library on my Mac. Apparently that is not the case as you cannot use the Mac Photos app to edit pictures in iCloud. So it appears I still need to have a main library on my Mac and use iCloud just to share, email, etc. from other devices. How do I keep the libraries in sync. For example if I take a picture on my phone will it automatically sync to my main library on my Mac so that I can have all originals on the Mac? How would I view all photos in iCloud Library on my iPhone?Thanks

Syncing iphone photos and Mac photos I am trying to organise and consolidate my photos on both iPhone and Photos app on Mac. I already use iCloud on iPhone to upload photos, and currently trying to do same for Mac (but uploading 200gb of photos I'm sure will take a very long time). I assume at that point I will be then able to see both sets of photos in combination on iCloud on my internet browser. But what I want ideally is for there to be one set of photos, rather than two. Or even for my iPhone photos to automatically be added to Photos on Mac (rather than having to manually import them periodically). Can anyone offer any suggestions/solutions? As a note - my Mac is running an older operating system that won't let me connect via cable, and I am very reluctant to upgrade at the moment as last time I tried it really tipped my Mac over the edge - and would rather avoid doing so if possible! I hope the above makes sense. Thank you!

Getting iCloud Photos onto my iPad So I have moved my whole Photo library from my iMac onto my 200GB iCloud Drive and can see it is being stored there and is accessible from my iMac. (I can now delete it from my C Drive.) However my iPad and iPhone don’t seem to see the iCloud storage being used and can only access recent photos and some shared albums. How do I get the whole Library visible / sync’ed on my iOS iPhone and iPad devices? All my OS are up to date. I have iCloud / Photos sharing turned on.
