Spam Folder

I'm using High Sierra and in my inbox for email I lost my spam folder that holds all my emails, I also have all my email accounts show up below my inbox with individual junk, spam, drafts, and trash folders. They don't do anything. Any suggestions ?

Thanks,

Paul

If multiple mails accounts are set up they have their individual default , inbox , sent , archive folders .

There is no such a spam folder using IMAP account .

Artificially create a new mail box in on my Mac section ( example spam 1 ) and then advanced rules can be set the mails coming from recipients .

User uploaded file

Open mail preferences > click on junk mail and check the box of perform custom actions ( click advanced to configure ) , then click on advanced .

User uploaded file

You can set up criteria by clicking on drop down arrows .

User uploaded file

And click on drop down arrow of junk and choose spam 1 folder .

User uploaded file

And click on ok , but by creating this rule will move mails that are as per criteria will move in spam 1 folder , for different mail accounts the same procedure can be applied .

Note : For every individual mail account the spam folder 1 can not be used and you can not club up these mail boxes and cannot create a rule to move different spam mail boxes into a single first mail box named as spam 1.

You can not drag and drop spam 1 folder under gmail account or iCloud account ie . under inbox because when you open web mail account by entering gmail address and password there are only inbox , sent and rest that are built by gmail services .

And there is no method to create artificial folders by you in the web mail account .

So when you drag and drop spam 1 folder in inbox section it will revert back in on my Mac section , and the mails coming from the server will come to inbox , if you sent a mail they will be shown in sent folder both in apple mail application and web mail account .

The reason is very clear there was no option to create folder in web mail account .

The apple mail application is just a configuration and whatever in web mail account is created its a carbon copy of settings in the apple mail application .

A screen shot for reference .

When I enter in user library select the mail , right click on it - copy it and again right click on paste item the mail data is in V5 folder and is created on the desktop .

And again in mail app click on file > import mail boxes , select apple mail click on continue they will start copying .

User uploaded file

And all mails with spam mail box will be created under on my Mac section using gmail account .

User uploaded file

But not exactly same as with your screen shot - ie under inbox - there are spam folders , either you backed up the data through time machine and that data is stored in mail section , not sure or you used migration assistant to transfer all the data from one machine to another .

haha That came out wrong, I have an inbox that holds 6 of my mail accounts, below are the drafts folder junk, trash and there should be a spam folder. inside the drafts folder are my drafts from all my 6 accounts. there is no spam folder that will collect spam from all my email accounts. Below my Archives folder are all my email accounts individually, when I highlight the show button all my folders appear. (Junk Spam, Trash Draft and archive folders) I'd like to add one spam folder for all my mailboxes.

Thanks,

Paul

Thanks so much for a way to get spam folders, I would just like to have one spam mailbox that collects spam from my server from all my mailboxes. when I add a new mailbox it comes with draft, junk, sent, trash, and Archive.

All those mailboxes collect from all of my accounts. I'm just trying to create 1 spam folder/mailbox for all my email accounts. I may half to start over and delete my emails and make new ones. Is this possible.

Thanks,

Paul

I'm just trying to create 1 spam folder/mailbox for all my email accounts.

It's not possible because if you are using different mail accounts like gmail , yahoo , any VPN services in your apple mail application they have their individual settings for their inbox , sent , archive or if you create mail boxes .

They can not be mixed with each other so one single spam folder cannot be used for all different mail accounts and you can not control / move / exchange spam mails from yahoo server to google server or at randomly move in your apple mail application .

I deleted one of my email mailboxes and then made it again and it was created with a spam folder, How can I move the spam folder to my inbox? the newly created mailbox uses all the other common folders trash, junk, etc, except for the spam folder because I don't have one in my inbox. How do I make a spam folder in my inbox?

Thanks,

Paul
