Apple TV can't access iTunes store and all apps are gone

first I couldn't access any apps

I then restarted the system

All apps were gone except share and settings

I reset the system. Accessing never completed after 15 minutes. I backed out and at same state. Only apps present are sharing and settings. Now can't even connect to iTunes.

RIP Apple TV or is there a fix here that someone can help with?

Thanks!

AppleTV 2, model A1427

The 2nd Gen doesn’t have any apps, just preset content sent via server. The unit is currently having trouble connecting to the network so all of those icons have disappeared.

Make sure DNS is set to auto (settings - general - network)

If on wifi try Ethernet

Make sure router has port 123 open (refer to manual if unsure)

Test on another network
