iphone is disabled

My iphone is disabled, and yet when I connect to itunes and try to restore the phone, it doesnt help. I have an iphone 6 and press the home button and the side button to go into restore mode but it keeps looping back into displaying iphone is disabled rather than allowing me to restore. Any suggestions?
