Question: iPad calendar displays exclamation point, “unable to update”.

Note the exclamation point next to Calendars and the “Unable to update calendars.” note under the exchange calendar. This is the calendar to which I have added all of my work events for quite some time. The calendar works fine on the iPad, but will not sync with the associated google account at all. Is there a way to troubleshoot WHY it is unable to update? I’d really like to sync the calendar and all events from my iPad to oogle calendars so that I can access it from other devices. I‘d appreciate some help.
