Ipod classic to itunes on a different computer

my computer crashed. I downloaded the latest itunes to my laptop on Windows 10.

When I connect my ipod classic to try & play my music or delete some of the old songs everything is greyed out.

I have tried loading drivers but nothing changed.

My ipod works on the car stereo so it appears the problem lies with itunes.

Can anyone help?
