Amphetamine app (replacement for High-Sierra-defunct Caffeine) asks me to left-click. I know Control-click is equivalent of right-click. How do I left-click on a MacBook Pro? Neither Option nor Command keys seem to produce the desired outcome.

The icon inverts color. Other than that, no effect.
I'm trying to left-click to bring up the Preferences menu. To do that, I currently have to use the workaround to quit Amphetamine and start it again from the Dock. I will file a bug report with the developer.
What happens if you just click the icon in the menu bar?
