I have lost the widescreen function when your turn the phone side ways
I have an iPhone 8
i miss not being able to turn the phone sideways to get a larger screen..
is there something I did to disable ??

Sounds like you have "Rotation Lock" enabled. In Control Center, the icon that governs it contains a padlock with a partial circle with an arrowhead.
