The screen on my MacBook Pro keeps going black.

My MacBook Pro is a late 2013 model with a 2.4 GHz Intel i5 processor. I'm currently running High Sierra 10.13.3. For the past three or so months the screen will just go black randomly when using using it. The keyboard and apple will stay lit, so I know the computer is still on. I've also noticed that if you're listening to music or any audio at all through the built-in speakers when the screen goes black, the computer makes somewhat of a skipping sound - almost little clicks from the speaker. The only way to get the computer to function again is to hold the power button down and then turn the computer back on. Any ideas of what this could be or how to fix it?
