Safari cannot open a secure connection to the server.

Hi,

On a website there is a link which when clicked opens a new windows and displays the page.

The new window works fine on all browsers except for safari (on Windows and MacOS) where it fails with the below error msg:

Safari can't open the page "https://proxxxxx.mexxxx.com" because Safari can't establish a secure connection to the server "proxxxxx.mexxxx.com"

The certificate on the the URL is signed by DigiSign details of which are below:

Issued to: proxxxxx.mexxxx.com

Issued by: Digi-Sign CA Digi-SSL

Issued by: UserTrustRSA Certification Authority (Valid from 07-11-2014 to 07-11-2024)

Safari Browser for Windows version: 5.1.7 (7534.57.2)

What should i do to resolve this issue.

Incase this requires adding certs to safari browser's truststore please help with the detailed steps as i m new to this browser. Kindly suggest.

This is a test.

There is a self standing beta version of Safari named Safari Technology Preview.

https://developer.apple.com/safari/technology-preview/

Download and install it just to test the site.

Afterwards if you want, you can uninstall it from Application folder by selecting, right clicking and moving to Trash.

Safari Technology Preview will automatically import Bookmarks, Reading list and Passwords.

To install Extensions, right click the package in the Downloads folder and choose

"Open with Safari Technology Preview".

Apple stopped developing Safari for Windows years ago.

Support for Safari for Windows is non-existent.

From the security point of view, this version of Safari downloaded from internet may be problem ridden.

I would uninstall it and use another browser of your choice.

Safari cannot open a secure connection to the server.
