Upgrade to 10.12.6 from 10.6.8 worth it?

Hi there,

My current Mac Pro setup works just fine for me, allowing me to remain highly productive in what I do. So, besides a modern Safari and other "enhancements," are there any performance benefits warranting an upgrade to 10.12.6 from 10.6.8?

I have 2 external copies of my boot HD (10.6.8) in case I take the plunge and compatibility with key programs becomes an issue.

Many thanks for your time!

Supposedly better security both on a system and application level.

Ease the transition to a modern OS version when that eventually comes. Even making the jump from Snow Leopard to Sierra is going to be bumpy.

If you have any interest in using newer software then you'll likely find nobody supports 10.6 anymore.
