Time Machine back up using external hard drive....

My macbook pro mid 2012 totally shut down on me after updating to High Sierra (10.13?) After safe reboot and “fixing” my disks didn’t work, an option I had was to buy a new hard drive but after scouring the internet, I want to restore my mac using Time Machine and my external hard drive. Will restoring my mac with the external wipe the external drive after I’ve restored my mac?

My Mac Pro has 4 hard drives total, I do not need to restore the other three HDs. Is that an option in Time Machine Restore to select only one drive to restore? Restoring Mac OS from Time Machine My iMac has been running extremely slow and I'm thinking of erasing and reinstalling to try and speed it up. Currently, my Time Machine backs up my internal drive, as well as one additional external drive. If I transfer from a time machine back up once I reinstall, will the backed up files from my other external hard drive upload on my internal hard drive?

Time machine restoration to mbp I was downgrading to big sur from Monterey on my mbp ( intel version). When big sur installation media was installing on my harddrive, I received pop up message that the installation media is damaged. I tried several times but the same message keeps popping up. My harddisk was erased before the installation started and luckily enough I backedup my mbp with time machine on an external device. Now how do I restore the backup on my mbp with no macOS? Thank you
