Upgraded from a 2010 time capsule to a new airport express. It won’t conmect to the internet. The time capsule never had this problem.

Upgraded from a 2010 time capsule to a new airport express.
Not sure what you mean by "upgraded", since the AirPort Express delivers a fraction of the performance of a Time Capsule.

Did you use the option to Replace an existing device in AirPort Utility to automatically transfer all of the network settings on the Time Capsule to the AirPort Express?
What is the make and model number of your modem?
What device....a Mac, a PC, and iPhone / iPad, etc.....are you using to configure the AirPort Express?
