I recently did the OS update on my MacBook Air, just to find out the copy and paste function is not working. I already searched Apple support and followed the steps to try and fix the issue. However the 2 that were suggested did not work. Can someone please help me. Thanks.
I have the same problem, and I tried three things as suggested in apple forums:

I'd copy the URLS of the forum posts where the solutions are suggested, but I cannot copy/paste 😉
Try rebuilding the launch services database. These are only cache files but can get corrupted.
Launch Terminal Triple click anywhere on the following line to copy entire line then at the prompt copy & paste this command: Then press return. Wait for the cursor to return to the command line.
/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain u -domain s -domain l -v
I didn't have to use this, somehow copy paste got back to working. I think it had to do with disk being close to full after update, does it make any sense? I freed some space and everything seems to be back to normal.
Which 2 steps were suggested and have you tried a simple restart?
Try testing in a new user account or in your Guest account.
It worked on the guest account. Can you please help me recovering it on my user account?
The disk needs space for the OS to run efficiently. Low disk space can cause all sorts of issues.
