Does Siri do a lousy job with dictation of text for everyone?

I try to rely on Siri for texting while I'm driving. She continually fouls it up. I will dictate something very slowly for her and sometimes she will have it right and then I'll watch as she erases it and then puts in something completely different. She did a pretty good job, not perfect but good, with my iPhone 6. The iPhone 8 *****! I have liked my iPhones but now I'm getting ready to dump them. I also have a number of other issues like sometimes parts of the touchscreen don't work and poor speaker audio, but the dictation is my biggest beef with Apple right now!
