Download and run Malwarebytes. Malwarebytes was developed by one of our own colleagues here in ASC and is about the most proven anti-malware software for Mac. It will detect Advanced MacCleaner as PUP (Potentially Unwanted Software) and will remove the app and all of its components.

Thanks, macjack's answer probably fixed it.
Problem is, if these programs offer themselves as malware cleaners and install themselves without asking, how can we believe anyone who then offers another program to clean them out? ad infinitum
Don't trust. them. The only 2 third party apps I ever recommend are Malwarebytes and Etrecheck.
