When I log myself out of the computer and shut down I switch it off at the main. When I switch it back on at the main the computer starts without me doing anything and comes up on my front page without me logging in. Can anyone help please as at the moment anyone can get into my computer !
Thanks for replying. the computer sleep was on never and the wake for network access was ticked but I can't see how that would affect the log on. Couldn't the computer be on but not logged in? Sorry if I am being a bit stupid here
Check the settings in the Energy Saver and Users & Groups panes of System Preferences.

Many thanks. I went into user/groups and looked in Log in options. Automatic login was clicked! It is now working perfectly
