I have a 2010 mac book pro. White Screen

The screen on my mac book pro started fading to a plain whit screen with no apple insignia. If I moved the screen around it would come back on but now it dose nothing just powers up and a plain white screen is all i get. this happened back when snow leopard came out. I really want this computer back up and running. It has been sitting in a draw way to long.
