The owner of my iPad 2 passed away. I want to use the device. I tried the directions for recovery mode found online but they are apparently no longer valid; holding in the home and the side buttons does nothing. What to do? Thanks

Gather up the original receipt from Apple or Apple
authorized iPad retailer, copy of the death certificate,
proof that you are now the owner (copy of the will,
letter testamentary, similar legal document for your location),
government issued photo ID to the nearest Apple store where
they may assist you. A genius bar reservation is highly
recommended to avoid delay at the store.
