Hi!

In skype, i can search for a requested person and find out if he/she has an account, just like in a telephonebook.

Is there something simillar in iChat?

PB 17 1 GHz, 1GB, Mac OS X (10.4.8)

No, there's no built-in directory of iChat users where you can search for possible contacts.
