I am trying to find messages with specific text in the body of the message. I tried typing the text, nothing. I tried "Entire Message:text", nothing. I read the help and get real frustrated when the help doesn't help. Thanks

Try the below in order and test after finishing each item.
Try re-indexing Spotlight by excluding your hard drive and then remove it.
Try rebuilding the mailbox.
If that doesn't work, try re-indexing the mailboxes. This can take awhile if you have a lot of mail.
Reindex messages For El Capitan, try looking in V3. Sierra use V4. High Sierra use V5.

Not sure what the issue might be. Search works for me. Of course if the text is inside an inline image search wouldn't find it.
