Is the password we use for our iCloud account always used for signing in on all of your devices? My MacBook Air when signing in still uses a password which was at least 3-4 passwords ago, also once in it constantly pops up requesting Apple ID login?

Does MacBook Air sign-in password correspond to your iCloud login password? Does constant pop up requesting iCloud login mean my MacBook could be compromised?

Hi pitalee!

I understand that you have some concerns about passwords on your MacBook Air, and I'm happy to help. As far as the login password being the same as your iCloud password, it may or may not be the same depending on how it was setup initially. You can find out how to change your password at the following link:

Change or reset the password of a macOS user account

Additionally, the alerts requesting your password may be related to iCloud Keychain. If that's the case, you can use these instructions to resolve the issue:

If your Mac keeps asking for the login keychain password

Cheers!
