Your Apple ID looks like an email address. So when you say you want to change your email address for the same Apple ID which your former husband created, it sounds like you're just asking for problems.

You can, in fact, change your Apple ID (which looks like an email address). But if you and your ex shared some apps, music, contacts, messages, etc., changing that Apple ID would either preclude your ex from getting to any of that material, or it would mean you are still sharing it all with him.

Perhaps you should try one more time to explain your exact situation, and what you are trying to accomplish. My guess is you should create a brand new Apple ID (email address) and completely disassociate yourself from anything and everything associated with that old Apple ID.
