How do I change an incorrect login email address on my iPad?
i have 2 email addresses, one which I’ve been using for years, and one which I hardly ever use. I can’t remember the password for the address I rarely use, and this is the email address which comes up when I try to update apps.

This particular address, the rarely used one, is the Apple ID which owns these apps you're trying to update. If you cannot supply the password, it would be as if a person placed apps on your iPad which you do not own, and are not authorized to use.

And you should strongly consider using only one Apple ID (analogous to what you call "email addresses"), as that Apple ID defines what you own.
