Update Apple ID settings

Basically a few days ago my iPhone prompted me to update my Apple ID settings so I put in my password and it says: Verification Failed, an unknown error occurred. I thought it was just a glitch so I restarted my internet and did a hard restart of my iPhone yet it’s still there and keeps bugging me to do it

Verification failed usually indicates a network issue. If restarting your router didn't resolve it, then go to settings>general>reset>reset network settings and that should resolve it. Just bear in mind that this will make your phone forget any WiFi passwords it remembers.
