Why don't contacts match on iPhone and iPad?

Hello, I have a new iPad 5th generation and I just set it up over the weekend. I have iCloud turned on for both my iPhone 6S and the new iPad. Now I have multiple duplicate contacts on both devices, and the total number of contacts are not matching from my iPhone to my iPad.

Anyone else have this issue? Is there a fix for it? Please provide feedback. Thank you.

Hello aprilb@SuffolkNY,

I understand that you are having an issue with duplicate contacts. I use my devices a lot and know how important it is to have your device running smoothly. I'm here to assist.

Here is a resource that can assist you:

If you see duplicate contacts after setting up iCloud Contacts

Please let us know if you are still having issues after attempting those steps.
Have a great day!
