My iCloud calendar events are not sending

I have sent out several calendar invitations from my iPhone to my work email address as a test and I am not receiving them. After reviewing an old post where they recommended removing the location on the invitation, I have tried this with a location and without and it doesn't work. Does anyone have a fix?
