Does NFC work on iPhone 8

I‘m trying to connect my iPhone 8 to my camera (Canon Rebel) via NFC. Is this technology available on the iPhone 8?

NFC on an iPhone is restricted solely to ApplePay and Health Apps designed to use NFC with their companies health device. Since it only has an effective range of a few centimeters it’s really not that useful with many other devices so Bluetooth would be the choice for wireless connections to peripherals like cameras.
