Question: Something Simple - Apple Apps

Hello Apple,

I have no idea where I am at the moment, where I'm writing this this and to whom... is a mystery.

These days all I hear is people saying "There's an App for that!" so I guess there's pretty much an app for everything these days? This is great for me and what it is Im after should be simple.

All it is, my wife and I are closing fast on our later part of our 50's and starting to show signs of dementia I'm sure, not proscribe let me add, it's just we forget things you know!! Everytime we leave the house we have this mental list we both run through to make sure I have everything. bag, keys, remote, glasses

So here's what go me thinking. Remote... this is a remote control for opening our garage door and our from gate.

There must be an app for that?

Is there a way I can copy my current IR signal to my iPhone? then use a number or a button to open the gate

Surely

Thanks for any advise and best place to get this apple app

Unfortunately no. The iPhone has no IR (infrared) emitter. So no way to have software send an IR signal.

There may be smart garage openers and gate controls than can be managed from an App on the iPhone, generally these are not Apple Apps (as in Apps made by Apple), they are made by other people.
