Is there a quick way of deleting photos on mac that you have already deleted on iPhone?

Dear community

I am one of the average iPhone users who will have a lot of irrelevant photos on my phone. Pictures that I got sent to me on whatsapp, the funny looking dog I saw on the street and only took a picture of to send to one friend. Or my homework to be able to read up on it that one time I'm working on it. Basically photos useful in the moment, but then never again.

Now, what I often do is sync with my mac. What I also do is delete photos on my phone only. What is annoying though, is that when I delete photos on my phone after syncing with my mac, I still have the meme my friend sent me on whatsapp two weeks ago on my computer. I don't want that. It bugs me. It adds just enough frustration for me to write this question.

What I like to do is to delete the top photos (photos on the top of the camera roll) gradually as I add them to my computer for space issues. These photos, I don't want to delete on my computer

What I'm looking for here is any help that makes it easy for me to organise photos on my mac and iPhone.

Thank you!
