iMessage pop up

Hi,

This can be caused by setting up the Mac in different ways.

1) Go to System Preferences > Users and Groups and Your account.

Click the Login item on the right hand side.

If the three items are there then highlight then use the - minus button to remove them from the list.

2) At Shut down there is a alert/Message window to open apps that are still Open on Close.

This may include some app like Messages that require you Quit the app instead of just closing window.

There are other more complicated methods of getting apps to Launch at Start up but these are the simplest and most likely.

Hi,

ccpd is unfamiliar to me.

However it sounds more like a process than an App.

Open your Hard Drive

Then the Library Folder and then the Launch Agents folder.

Any item here tend to be add ons

This folder makes sure they start up when the Mac does.

Here is a view of mine.

Back in the Library Folder is also LaunchDaemons.

Some of these may be related to the above folder.

Now go back to the Hard Drive and Open up System then LaunchAgents.

These tend to be the Apple ones that make certain parts of apps to run in the background such as the Contacts app so all apps can access the info in Contacts.

Most will start with com.apple.(process name here).plist

if they start com.apple then leave them alone.

Again there is a LaunchDaemons folder in this Library as well.

One more place to check.

With a Finder window open use the Go Menu whilst holding down the ALT/Option key.

This reveals another Library which you should select and then go to LaunchAgents again.

In short the first location is Add-ons that everyone can use.

The second is the Apple standard items.

The Last is what the current Logged in User can access or have start up.

The item you have is likely to be in the first or the third, but you never know with some installs.

If you don't find it then run https://etrecheck.com/ and post the findings.

It will anonymise the results for you but should list the location of the offending item.
