I tried to I add fingerprint if it’s not working

I phone 6 plus fingerprint message says set up failed I tried to add my fingerprint multiple times and still won’t set up

Make sure you are following the instructions exactly > Use Touch ID on iPhone and iPad - Apple Support


You can use Touch ID with an iPhone 5s or later, iPad (5th generation), iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, or iPad mini 3 or later.

Hello gracielafrompomona,

Make sure both your finger and the iPhone home button are clean and oil free. If yet your unable to add a fingerprint, visit an Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider for further options. You can find one close to you at the Apple Support App (available at AppStore) or at locate.apple.com

Thank u for ur reply..it was helpful.But still won’t let me set it up I keep on getting that message says failed please go back and try again... I went to Apple support to find possible causes for this is most likely the main screen was changed and I was not from Apple authorized store..changed at some random indoor swap meet or open swap meet.since it is purchased from second hand and not a official Apple store 💩ssh ...it..ugh! Lesson learned.😷
