Buying apps/ using gift card

Hi, I’m trying to use an Apple gift card instead of using my debit card to purchase an app. Do I need to enter my credit card information regardless to get to this point? Or is there somewhere I can enter the gift card info. Without having to do that. The only options I see for payment method are credit/debit card, PayPal, or none.
