2012 15’ i7 quad vs. 2017 13’ Dual

Hey guys. I’ve been looking to upgrade from my 15 inch retina to one of the newer MacBook pros and wanted to get some opinions. I want to get lighter so I’m looking at the 13 inch this time around and I don’t need the touchbar so I’ll probably won’t get that particular model. I mainly use my computer for music production (logic, ableton, other plugins). My current computer has been a work horse with 8GB of ram and 2.6 quad core processor. Am I making a mistake going with the new 13 inch? Thanks for the help.

Thanks. I thought about that. Not really too concerned with the real estate. I connect to a 40 inch tv when I’m at my desk and Can Deal with the minor inconvenience when I’m on the go. I’m more concerned about the power

I'd think you need to gain hold of a 13 inch and try it out. You may not like the real estate.
