Airpods quit autoconnecting...after multiple factory resets, same problem.

Hi anyone else had their airpods autoconnect crap out after about 8 months?

I have to factory reset my airpods about 3 times a week right now... and then they'll autoconnect for a day or two and then stop.

I can get them to connect if I have one in my ear and double tap it...but that's it. When I put one or both headphones in, I hear the connecting "Chime" but the bluetooth logo in the top bar of my phone remains....it never switches to the headphone symbol until I actually double tap on the earphone. And even then, it only connects for Spotify, not for Siri or Phone calls.

Rather frustrating for a $170 pair of headphones.

NOTE: they worked fine with my iPhone 6s+, then for the first couple months of my iPhone 8+... but no longer.

swellfiji,

Yeah, sometimes that happens. Try the following

1) Go to the Control Center

2) 3D press on the music controls

3) Press on the little circled up-arrow in the upper right corner

4) Select AirPods as output

Good luck.
