Question: How to select 2 different ranges with AppleScript?

Say I want to select ranges "A1:J1" and "A6:J6" (and nothing in between); how would I do so with AppleScript?

I want to select those two ranges to create a chart. As of right now my work around is to copy and paste those two ranges on top of each other elsewhere and then creating another range (A8:J9) to select.

Would also be nice to know how to select multiple ranges for future reference.

Well, with my experience with AppleScript, I know the devil is often in the details. You don't give enough useful specifics to know how to make a useful suggestion. What kind of ranges? Why are they separate to begin with? What kind of chart? What does your script look like now?
