iMessages coming in out of order

A while back I had a problem with iMessages messages coming into view and going out of order (you could see a message come in and be placed above the last message I sent). It was fixed, I believe in 11.2.5 but has come back in the last couple of days on both phone (iPhone X) and iPad Mini 2 and my wife's iPhone SE. All devices have been on 11.2.6 since the day it came out but this problem just appeared in the last couple of days.
