Macbook not charging over USB-C

I have used this mac for around 4 months now, and for the last month it charges whenever it feels like it. This happened no matter which USB-C port I use, which cable is used, or where I am. This is a $2500 machine, in the very least, one would expect it to charge even if all the nice ports from the previous model was removed. #courage

Basic troubleshooting done like update OSX, reset smc, swap cables, etc. I did all the basic stuff. Even checked the battery in recovery mode with no issues.
