It says that to use Airdrop with an iPhone or iPad you need at least a 2012 mac.
Really need to give more details about the machines you want to airdrop from and to.

Which models? Which OS versions?

- MacBook Pro (13-inch, Late 2011) - macOS High Sierra - Versão: 10.13.3 (17D102).
- iPhone 8 Plus - iOS 11
Com iMac 2012 - macOS High Sierra, funcionou normalmente, mas com o iPhone 8 Plus, não.
